WAR OF THE WEST

This May Long Weekend Mettle will be host to 70+ strength athletes from all across the continent to compete in powerlifting, strongman and strongwoman. Our event will showcase some of the very best and strongest athletes both male and female as well as junior, master and special olympics athletes ranging in age from 15-60+. Saturday will see two rounds of powerlifting both an Open and Invitational. The invitational will draw some of the best talent Canada has to offer. On Sunday we will be presenting North America’s Strongest Woman (the first annual of its kind!) with the top three Women being awarded spots to the Official World’s Strongest Woman contest later in the year. Also on Sunday will be a Pro/Am Strongman contest bringing in 10 of the very best athletes Western Canada has to offer.

We wish to create an unprecedented event that is groundbreaking in terms of both size and spectacle; an event of this magnitude has not been seen in Western Canada and we will set the bar in terms of both performance and entertainment. Strength sports are some of the fastest growing sports in the country and we wish to showcase our homegrown talent against those from the US and Canada by creating an unforgettable weekend for both athletes and spectators.
